Officiating Opportunity

As you know, officiating numbers have been dwindling for some time. There has been apparent interest from each of your organizations in the last year regarding officiating opportunities, and wondering if we could get a seminar or two in Central Illinois. Last year, we held one in Pekin and had 7 new officials join (3 from Decatur). This year, we are offering a seminar in Peoria...and there are currently only 4 individuals registered. We need to push this quickly as I do not want to lose this opportunity for new officials to start their journey!

My ask is that you forward this email along to your membership. My contact information is below and I will be more than happy to field questions, provide guidance, etc. As hockey continues to grow downstate, we need to grow our officiating membership. Last season, in Pekin, Peoria, Bloomington alone, I scheduled 805 games...and they were worked by roughly 40 officials. We need more referees! I would love to see at least 25-30 new faces in the room at the end of August. Tell me how I can help.
