Scholarships

Bloomington Youth Hockey (BYH) will offer a limited number of scholarships each year to enable families who may not otherwise be able to play hockey due to individual financial circumstances. This Scholarship Program is open to any eligible BYH travel hockey team player. Scholarships are offered during the winter season and granted based on a panel of criteria; please see the policy below. Families may request assistance with league fees or equipment. 

Beginning in 2026, applications for the winter season are due by September 1^ST. We will make decisions as soon as possible and notify applicants of the committee’s decision before the first monthly installment due on October 1st. Please see the documents below for more information and the application form.

Please submit the requested information to the BYH Treasurer at treasurer@bloomingtonyouthhockey.com. If you do not have a secure email option, please place the completed information in the BYH drop box at the Bloomington Ice Center or mail it to BYH, PO Box 3454, Bloomington, IL 61702. Please email the Treasurer when the application has been placed in the drop box.

If the scholarship due date has passed and your financial situation has changed during the season, please feel free to apply, and we will do our best to assist you.

Bloomington Parks & Rec offers a limited number of scholarships each year to help families who may not otherwise be able to play hockey because of individual financial circumstances. The BYH scholarship committee reviews house league scholarship requests and awards them on a case-by-case basis. Families may request assistance with league fees or equipment. If you reside in the Bloomington city limits, please submit a recreation fee assistance request through the City of Bloomington before applying for this scholarship.
